The Mazda RX7 (another name: Savanna RX7) is a Japanese passenger sports car that was unveiled to the public in 1978. Its serial production started in the same year and lasted until 2002 - about 810,000 cars of this model were produced during it. Production was carried out primarily in the city of Hiroshima, Japan.
The RX7 model was designed and implemented into serial production in order to expand the commercial offer of Mazda Motor Corporation and to replace the RX3 model in it. Compared to its predecessor, the new car differed in many elements. First of all, it had a completely different styling of the body and passenger compartment. Other power units were also used, although they were still created in a very rare Wankel arrangement. The aerodynamic properties have also been refined. The RX7 model lived to see its three generations in the course of production. It was offered on the markets in several body versions, including as a 2-door coupe or a 2-door convertible. The company's offer was replaced by the RX8 model.
